AIR Nigeria yesterday made public the official suspensio of its operation including local, regional and international
flight starting as from September10, 2012. The management of the airline had revealed that the suspension was
imperative since no business can survive when staff disloyalty has taken over the business, as well as necessary tension , "which are not conducive for business in the aviation sector." In a statement issued
yesterday by the management, the defunct airline had appealed to its esteemed customers to bear with them on the decision, and had directed them to contact various agents responsible for
issuance of tickets to get their refunds.
Speaking in relation to the development, the Chairman of the airline, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, affirmed that investing more on the airine will be dangerous considering the high level of disloyalty amongst staff and the harsh business environment created that may not enable business to thrive "But we are strongly committed to ensuring that Air Nigeria survives," he said.
The corporate turn-around expert further explained that the suspension
of all the operations of Air Nigeria was normal in every business environment.
According to him, "Corporations are like individuals who naturally will get
sick and the usual thing to do is to admit them to hospitals, either for corporate surgery or for treatment, as the case may be. During such a period, it is not likely that they will work in full capacity, depending on thenature of the illness."
