The police in Edo State has arrested two persons in connection to the kidnap of the wife of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, governor, Margaret Emefiele.
The Inspector General of Police’s Special Intelligence Monitoring Team, headed by Abba Kyari, mandated to carry out the rescue operation, freed her from the kidnappers on Saturday.
The police have also mounted a manhunt for four other suspects, who have been declared wanted, while the ransom money has been recovered.

According to The Guardian, the two people arrested are giving the police useful tips that would lead to the arrest of other suspects on the run.
A police source said the men were apprehended following co-ordinated intelligence and investigation by the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, SIRT, in close collaboration with the family of the victim.
“The police have in their custody the money that was paid to the criminals as ransom before Mrs. Emefiele was rescued,” the source said.
The criminals had demanded for N100 million as ransom, but negotiations brought it down to N2 million.
The N2m was given to them before Mrs. Emefiele, her driver and three co-travellers were released.
Margaret Emefiele was abducted by a group of heavily-armed gunmen late last Thursday, along the Benin-Agbor road.
