The State Sector Commander, Mr Wobin Gora stated this on Sunday during the graduation ceremony of 40 drivers from the Chelok Drive Academy in Yenagoa.

Gora, who applauded the drivers, urged them to uphold the value of driving as well as abiding by the rules and regulations of the FRSC.

“First, you must ensure that you obtain genuine driver’s licence, ensure that your vehicle is in order before you drive and always avoid the five deadly “O” which include, overloading, obstruction, over-speeding, over-confidence and overtaking.

“On driver’s licence, I urge you not to cut short to avoid obtaining fake one, because if you are arrested with fake, you will not go unpunished; I urge you to go to any of the FRSC’s office across the country for a genuine licence.

“You must encourage standard of driving as you have undergo this training; driving is a serious business and also like a classroom, where you learn every day.

“Be a good ambassador of this academy and always make good use of what you have been thought to ensure safer road for the citizenry,” he said.

Miss Kenechukwu Onyekachi, Proprietor, Chelok Drive Academy, commended the FRSC on their support to ensure that the academy was functional in the state.

“This Academy was accredited by the FRSC earlier 2016; is the one among the six driving schools in Bayelsa; today, we are celebrating our first graduating students; we have a total of 40 professional drivers but two among them will be repeating some of their classes.

“Yes, we deal with professional and most of our instructor are from the FRSC,” she stated.
