The Nigerian Air Forces yesterday stated that its 2016 recruitment is targeted at doubling the number of fresh intakes in its previous enlistments. A statement by Air Force spokesman Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa said The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, made the disclosure recently in Enugu when he went to the state of facilities at the International Helicopter Flying School (IHFS) and 95 Helicopter Combat Training School (95 HCTG) among other NAF establishments in the state.
Famuyiwa said “the projection for 2016 is to recruit about 2,100 personnel.” The Air force statement also said a 30-man BMATT team had since arrived Nigeria on 3 January 2016 to train the first batch of NAF Regiment personnel, comprising ‘4 officers and 100 airmen’ at the Ground Training Centre, Kaduna. The 3-week training programme is said to be focusing on airfield defence and critical assets protection, and would be rounding up on 28 January 2016.
